Refund and Revision Policy
The Career Standard is operated by Hahn Markets LLC, an Ohio limited liability company.
The Career Standard provides personalized career services and digital resources. Because many of our services involve customized research, writing, editing, and professional review, refunds and revisions are handled according to the terms below.
Services and purchases are offered only to customers in the United States who are at least 18 years old. A Standard Service interest or recommendation form is an inquiry, not a paid project or automatic service acceptance. Standard Service arrangements are confirmed manually by email.
Refunds Before Work Begins
You may request a full refund before substantive work begins on your order.
Payment alone does not begin substantive service work or create automatic project acceptance. Submitting intake also does not start work. TCS reviews completed intake for completeness, service fit, eligibility, scope, and availability. Work begins only after TCS accepts the project in writing.
Reviewing intake only to assess completeness, fit, eligibility, scope, or availability is not substantive service work for this policy. After written acceptance, substantive work includes customized research, planning, writing, editing, or preparing deliverables for your accepted project.
If TCS cannot accept a paid Expedited project, it will cancel the project and issue a full refund.
Complete your required intake within 14 calendar days after payment. If it remains incomplete at that point, it enters manual review. TCS may issue one intake access reissue when appropriate. If the project cannot proceed, TCS may cancel it and issue a full refund.
Refund requests are reviewed and handled manually. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe for Stripe payments. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.
Refunds After Work Begins
After written TCS acceptance and the start of customized work, payments for completed customized work are nonrefundable because that work has been performed specifically for your project.
If The Career Standard is unable to complete a purchased service, you will receive a refund for the portion of the service that was not delivered. This remedy is separate from the full refund when TCS cannot accept a paid Expedited project before work begins.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Digital Downloads
Separately purchased downloadable PDFs, worksheets, checklists, script packs, templates, and other digital resources are nonrefundable once delivered or accessed. If you receive a damaged, incomplete, or inaccessible purchased resource, contact us so a replacement copy can be provided.
Customized career service deliverables are governed by the service refund, revision, and correction rules in this policy. Delivering them as downloadable files does not remove those rights.
Included Revisions
One consolidated revision request is included within the accepted project scope. Submit the requested changes together so TCS can review them as one coordinated request.
Full Package includes one coordinated revision request across its résumé, written LinkedIn optimization packet, and tailored cover letter. It does not include a separate revision allowance for each component.
TCS errors are handled separately under Factual Accuracy and do not consume the included revision request.
Revision Request Period
Submit your consolidated revision request within seven calendar days after final delivery. Unused included revisions expire after that period.
Requests received after the deadline are not automatically included. They may require a separate fee and are subject to current availability. Download access remaining open for 30 days does not extend the seven calendar day revision window. Delivery of an included revision does not create another included revision request.
What Revisions Include
Included revisions may address:
- Wording, tone, and clarity
- Reordering or emphasizing existing information
- Reasonable formatting adjustments
- Corrections to information originally provided
- Refinements that remain within the original project scope and target role
What Revisions Do Not Include
A revision does not include:
- Changing the target position, career direction, or industry after drafting has begun
- Creating an entirely new document
- Rewriting the project using substantially different information
- Adding services or documents that were not included in the original purchase
- Incorporating large amounts of new information supplied after delivery
- Reversing previously approved changes
Requests outside the original scope may require a separate quote.
Factual Accuracy
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about their employment history, education, accomplishments, qualifications, and other professional details.
Customers should report any error made by The Career Standard within 14 calendar days after final delivery. TCS will correct errors it made at no additional charge when reported within this period. Correction of a TCS error is separate from the included revision request and does not use that revision request.
Customer preference changes, new information, a new target role, and a new strategic direction are not TCS errors. Those requests are reviewed under the included revision and project scope rules.
Client Delays
Complete your required intake within 14 calendar days after payment. If it remains incomplete at that point, it enters manual review. TCS may issue one intake access reissue when appropriate. If the project cannot proceed, TCS may cancel it and issue a full refund.
After written acceptance, the project timeline pauses while TCS waits for information, clarification, approval, or feedback. An accepted project inactive for more than 30 days may be closed and may need to be rescheduled based on availability. This does not replace the 14 day incomplete intake review or extend the included revision window.
The Expedited service timeline begins only with written acceptance after payment, complete intake, and the required review. Payment or intake submission alone does not start work.
Turnaround Times
Any turnaround time shown on the website or provided during communication is an estimate based on the information available at that time.
The Career Standard will communicate any significant delay and provide an updated expected delivery date.
Career Outcomes
The Career Standard provides professional guidance and document development services, but cannot guarantee interviews, job offers, promotions, salary increases, recruiter responses, or other employment outcomes.
Hiring decisions remain under the control of employers and other third parties.
How to Request a Refund or Revision
Email hello@thecareerstandardco.com and include:
- Your name
- The service or product purchased
- Your order information, when available
- A clear description of your request
Purchasing a service or digital resource from The Career Standard indicates acceptance of this Refund and Revision Policy.
Delivery Access and Working Files
Final downloadable deliverables remain available for 30 days after final delivery. Working files become eligible for deletion 90 days after project closure. Deletion is manual and subject to checks for applicable holds; eligibility does not mean automatic or immediate deletion. TCS does not promise permanent file storage.
Keep your own copies of final deliverables. Download access and working file retention do not extend the revision request period or create an additional included revision. Separate payment and operational records may be retained longer as described in the Privacy Policy.
